* Jared Goff is the fourth high school quarterback from California selected No. 1 overall since 2002 joining David Carr, Carson Palmer and Alex Smith.
* Carson Wentz is the second player drafted in the last 10 years from North Dakota, joining 2006 pick Greg Eslinger of
Bismarck.
* Florida high schools led the way with seven first round picks, highlighted by No. 3 Joey Bosa of St. Thomas Aquinas.
* Speaking of St. Thomas Aquinas, Bosa is the 18th player from the South Florida power to be drafted since 2006.
* At the college level, Ohio State is at the top of the list with five players drafted in the first round. Bosa and teammate Ezekiel Elliott went back-to-back at 3-4 followed by Eli Apple (10), Taylor Decker (16) and Darron Lee (18).
* Three of the top four prospects in the
2013 247Sports Composite came off the board in Thursday's opening round. Robert Nkemdiche was the No. 1 overall recruit that year and was taken with the 29th pick by Arizona.
