Greenland were able to grind out a solid victory over Mountainburg on Friday, winning 53-39.
Greenland's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 26 points in the first half. Mountainburg came up with 13 to make it 26-13 heading into the break. The offense for Greenland continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 27 points to put the game away.
No one put up better numbers for Greenland than senior Levi Vaughn, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 47 yards and 4 touchdowns. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse junior Corby Wright, who racked up 10 tackles. The game leaves both teams with the exact same record at 1-1.
Greenland will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Gentry. Mountainburg will have some time to rest before their next matchup, which is against Marshall in two weeks at 7:00 PM.
