Carol City's win over Central (Miami) sent shockwaves through the MaxPreps south region football computer rankings, directly affecting four teams.
First, Carol City moved into the rankings at No. 16. Second, Central dropped out of the rankings. Third, Coral Gables entered the rankings at No. 15 due to its previous win over Carol City.
Finally, Oxbridge Academy (West Palm Beach, Fla.) moved up to No. 5 thanks to a previous win over Carol City.
IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) remains No. 1 after being idle last week. DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) returns to the No. 2 spot after beating St. John's (Washington, D.C.).
The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Football Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. The South region includes teams from Florida, Tennessee, Maryland, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Washington D.C., Kentucky, Arkansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
