This week's postseason action didn't throw the rankings into complete disarray, but it did reorder the standings a decent amount. Among the action were the efforts of Saint Francis's junior Darrell Page, an offensive menace who scored five total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Saint Francis's 52 - 27 win over Wilcox last week had a lot to do with the leadership of junior Darrell Page. Page rushed for 199 yards and five touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Page as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Pittsburg (2nd in the power rankings) and San Ramon Valley (4th). Pittsburg claimed a 16 - 7 victory over San Ramon Valley. Pittsburg gave the San Ramon Valley offensive line some real trouble with four sacks (and will no doubt be looking to keep the pressure on De La Salle this Saturday).
Movin on Up
Menlo-Atherton will have a better view of things this week after its strong showing last week propelled it eight spots up the power rankings. That was the biggest rise of the week. It strolled past San Benito with points to spare, taking the game 37 - 21. One of the main ringleaders for Menlo-Atherton was senior Miles Conrad, who tossed the ball for 357 yards and four TDs.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Valley Christian (11th in the power rankings) and Serra (3rd). Both teams have their heads held high after landslide victories against their previous opponents. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both Valley Christian and Serra put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they play one another this week.
