The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Watchung Hills Regional takes on Bridgewater-Raritan in the first playoff game of the year. Watchung Hills Regional has seen its point totals steadily rise over the past four games, a trend the team will no doubt hope to continue.
Watchung Hills Regional claimed a 31 - 21 victory over Ridge last week. Senior Jonathan Taub was a defensive powerhouse in the win and ended up with 12 total tackles.
As for Bridgewater-Raritan, it can now show off three landslide victories after its most recent game. It dominated last week, steamrollering Elizabeth 35 - 0. 35 seems to be a good number for Bridgewater-Raritan as the team scooped up a win with the same point total the game before.
Their wins bumped Watchung Hills Regional to 4-5 and Bridgewater-Raritan to 7-2. Watchung Hills Regional and Bridgewater-Raritan will be experiencing extra pressure in this one since they are each in the midst of a winning streak (Watchung Hills Regional with four wins, Bridgewater-Raritan with three). We'll see which team can handle the heat this Thursday.
