The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Thursday Fair Lawn takes on Roxbury in the first playoff game of the year. Roxbury will be looking to take advantage of a struggling Fair Lawn defense that has allowed an average of 28 points per game.
Fair Lawn had a rough outing against Northern Highlands last week, losing 42 - 7.
As for Roxbury, it is still under.500 but has been making strides to fix that in its last two games. It scooted by West Morris Central last week with a score of 24 - 7. No one had a larger role in the success than senior Connor Mahoney, who brought his A game into the contest. He ran for 79 yards and also punched in one touchdown.
Fair Lawn's defeat dropped it to 3-6 while Roxbury's win brought it to 4-5. We'll find out on Thursday if Fair Lawn can steal Roxbury's luck or if Roxbury records another victory instead.
