The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Arlington (8-2) takes on Fossil Ridge (10-0) in the first playoff game of the year. It might come down to the wire as the match is expected to be a close one.
Arlington went up against Sam Houston last week. Arlington's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 20 points in the first half. That put it at a 20 - 7 advantage. The offense continued to do well in the second half, scoring 17 points. That ultimately gave them a 37 - 29 win.
As for Fossil Ridge, the margin was closer than expected for it last week, but the end result was the same. It won a game that couldn't get any closer, slipping by Keller 41 - 40. Senior Cobe Craft deserves a lot of the credit as he tossed the ball for 175 yards and four TDs. This sound performance was nothing new for Craft, who has been a rock for Fossil Ridge in the past ten games. Additional support came from junior Marco Olivas, a defensive powerhouse who racked up 17 tackles.
With big points in their last games, don't be surprised if the score for this one stands out.
