There could be some fireworks in this game: Mitchell has finished with big points in its past three games; likewise, Robbinsville has had high scores in its last three. Mitchell put the hurt on Community School of Davidson last week with a conclusive 67 - 21 victory. As for Robbinsville, it claimed a 46 - 34 victory over Mountain Island Charter.
Mitchell might be getting used to wins now that the team has gotten five in a row. It got the good result in part due to one touchdown from sophomore Noah Pitman, who has now contributed at least one touchdown in the past seven games. Senior Ben Young banked an additional two TDs for the team. Young has been a consistent playmaker for Mitchell as this was the 12th good game in a row from him. Mitchell remains undefeated at home and rose to 11-1.
The win last game was familiar territory for Robbinsville, who now has three in a row. It got the good result in part due to two touchdowns from senior Ian Wiggins, who has now contributed at least one touchdown in the past four games. Sophomore Rylee Anderson was another big-time player for Robbinsville. He tacked on three touchdowns to Robbinsville's score. This also marked the 5th consecutive game in which Anderson rushed for 100+ yards. The win got Robbinsville up to 9-4.
The two teams picked up some nice yardage in their most recent games (679 for Mitchell and 437 for Robbinsville), so expect some excitement on the offensive end of the ball.
