Barlow (Redding, Conn.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 24 in Connecticut, but was stunned by
Weston (Conn.), 21-14. Weston was ranked at No. 46 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Connecticut coming into the week.
The Trojans were up 13-7 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Justin Schaffer in the second quarter.
Weston was ahead by as much as 14 before the Falcons pulled closer.
Cooper Brown played well for Barlow. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns.
Tyler Hassett played well for WHS in the victory. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns. He has now scored 14 touchdowns on the season.
The Trojans entered the contest giving up 24.3 points per game this year. Weston held firm on the defensive front, and kept BHS well below the 40.1 points it had been averaging per game.
A 29-23 Weston victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Barlow defeated Brookfield 29-22 last week. The victory was a step in the right direction for the Trojans, which was coming off a 49-0 defeat at the hands of Masuk in its previous game.
