Adding to the longest winning streak in IA Northern this week, Churchill County beat Truckee 54-19. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Spring Creek took down South Tahoe 50-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Churchill County's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Morgan Dirickson threw for 235 and 4 touchdowns and Tyler Bagby had 131 yards receiving. On the ground Trent Tarner contributed 282 yards. Dylan Jabines helped Churchill County's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 70 yards.
Tarner provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Brooke Hill's team bested the Wolverines. Tarner's favorite target this week was Bagby, who caught 3 passes for 131 yards.
Tarner was a beast in the backfield as the Greenwave topped Truckee.
Bagby was the best receiver in the league this week as Churchill County beat Josh Ivens' team. Jabines helped Churchill County's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 70 yards.
The Greenwave's Dirickson and Bagby led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Dirickson has thrown for 1,646 yards this season, while Bagby has 22 catches for 749 yards. Dayton's Austin Fletcher leads the league in rushing yards with 1,490.
The most important game in IA Northern this week will be the match up between Churchill County and Lowry. The Greenwave enters the game ranked fourth in the state, while the Buckaroos ranks 23rd.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Churchill County's Bagby goes up against Lowry's Calvin Connors.
The Greenwave's offense has recorded 447 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Tim Billingsley's team has permitted only 87 on the year.
The Spartans' BRAXTON WILLIAMS needs only 83 yards against Elko next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 158 carries BRAXTON WILLIAMS has accumulated 917 yard this year.
Next week's game between Churchill County and the Buckaroos will feature an aerial matchup as Dirickson tests his arm against Connors' defensive ability.
