3A Conference 7 recap November 13, 2013
Concord extended the longest winning streak in 3A Conference 7 this week by beating Garinger, 70-6. The victory was the 11th in a row for the Spiders.
Concord took down the Wildcats 70-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
5-foot-10 quarterback Aaron Kennerly of South Rowan is the league leader in passing yards this season with 926. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Seth Wyrick. The East Rowan star has 28 catches for 442 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Glen Padgett's team takes on Northwest Cabarrus. The Spiders are currently in first, while the Trojans are in fifth.
Carson made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,003 from 4,638. The improvement was the result of a 49-21 victory over Cox Mill last week.
