If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for New Deal. On Friday they take on Stanton at 7:30 PM. New Deal are coming into the game hot, having won three in a row.
New Deal didn't have too many spare points in their matchup with Slaton last Friday, but they still walked away with a 19-13 win. Senior Jett Whitfield, who passed for 196 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in New Deal's success. Near the top of the highlight reel was Whitfield's 54-yard TD bomb to Dk Blaylock in the first quarter.
Meanwhile, when you finish with 226.3 more yards than your opponent, a favorable outcome is sure to follow. Stanton walked away with a 35-21 victory over Forsan.
Their wins bumped New Deal to 3-0 and Stanton to 1-2. New Deal's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Stanton defensive front that amassed four sacks against Forsan, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
