4A Narrows recap November 13, 2013
Gig Harbor took down Tahoma 56-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Connor Scanlan threw for 128 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 102 yards in the win.
South Kitsap made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,064 from 4,280. The improvement was the result of a 41-25 victory over Foss last week.
The Tides' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Scanlan contributed 102 yards. Bobby Blaser helped Gig Harbor's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 41 yards.
Brett Villa made the biggest impact on defense this week as Gig Harbor bested the Bears. The 6-foot-2 senior pulled down 1 interception and recorded 1 fumble.
Scanlan was the most successful running back in 4A Narrows this week. Teammate Sterling Brown added to the ground attack by rushing for 103 yards.
Gig Harbor's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Tides feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Scanlan has thrown for 1,214 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Santana Johnson has 28 catches for 521 yards.
Bellarmine Prep led the league in scoring this week after putting up 63 points on Kamiak.
