One of the last uncommitted and unsigned elite basketball prospects in the Class of 2013 rendered his college decision Tuesday, as
Aaron Gordon of
Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.) picked Arizona.
The announcement came at a press conference in Chicago as part of the McDonald's All-American Game festivities.
Gordon, an explosive 6-foot-8 forward, is one of the most highly decorated players ever from the San Francisco Bay Area – perhaps falling short in terms of high school credentials to only Jason Kidd.

As a senior at Mitty, Gordon posted 23 points, 16 rebounds, four blocks and three blocks, leading the Monarchs to a 28-6 record and California's Open Division state title game.
The brother of former UCLA and New Mexico standout Drew Gordon, Aaron is ranked the No. 5 prospect overall in the Class of 2013 by MaxPreps. He led Archbishop Mitty to Division II state titles as a sophomore and junior, earning first team All-American honors a year ago.
The San Jose school is 91-11 over the past three years behind the often spectacular play of Gordon.
Arizona won out over Kentucky, Oregon and Washington for Gordon's services. He joins a Wildcat recruiting class that already includes 6-7 wing
Rondae Jefferson of
Chester (Pa.) and fellow Bay Area standout
Elliott Pitts of
De La Salle (Concord).
No. 1 prospect
Andrew Wiggins of
Huntington Prep (W.Va.) and shooting guard
Keith Frazier of
Kimball (Dallas) are the only 2013 five-star recruits yet to announce a college decision.
