Video: Breaking down Dick's NationalsA look at the teams and bracket in 2016 field.
The 2015-16 high school basketball season comes to a close this week in New York City as Dick's Sporting Goods High School Nationals takes center stage.
No. 1-ranked
Chino Hills (Calif.) – ineligible for Dick’s Nationals participation as a member of the California Interscholastic Federation – took some of the drama out of the event over the weekend by capping an undefeated season and likely wrapping up consensus mythical national championship acclaim.
However, the weekend won't lack intrigue.
A potential rematch of the last two title games could materialize between No. 2
Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) and No. 3
Montverde Academy (Fla.). The two perennial powers have met in the final each of the past two years and Montverde is the three-time defending champion.
Joining the Warriors and Eagles in the Big Apple will be No. 7
Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.), No. 8
St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, N.J.), No. 9
Providence Day (Charlotte, N.C.) and No. 10
La Lumiere (LaPorte, Ind.) plus unranked
Miller Grove (Lithonia, Ga.) and
Wasatch Academy (Mt. Pleasant, Utah).
SEE FULL BRACKETAll first round games will be broadcast by ESPNU while the semifinal games will move to ESPN2. Saturday's championship game will tip at 12 p.m. EST (ESPN).
