Blue Springs added to the longest winning streak in Suburban - Gold this week by beating Lee's Summit North, 42-0. The victory was the 10th in a row for the team.
The Broncos fell to Blue Springs 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Josh Caldwell was a bright spot for Lee's Summit North, as he ran for 74 yards and caught 3 passes for 26 yards in the loss.
Caymen Metcalf had a great week catching the football as Lee's Summit bested Joplin. He caught 11 passes for 306 yards.
Drew Lock threw for 562 yards and 7 touchdowns. He went 22-26 with 1 interception.
Metcalf was the best receiver in the league this week as the Tigers bested the Eagles. Metcalf racked up 11 receptions for 306 yards. Tanner Allin helped Lee's Summit's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 98 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback Lock of Lee's Summit is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2,813. He has also thrown 34 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Darrius Shepherd. The Blue Springs star has 53 catches for 931 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Kelly Donohoe's team and Blue Springs South. The Wildcats comes into the matchup ranked first in the state, while the Jaguars ranks eighth.
Blue Springs' Shepherd is a few successful plays short of surpassing 1,000 yards receiving this season. He needs only 69 receiving yards against Blue Springs South to hit that benchmark. He has recorded 53 catches for 931 yards this year.
Greg Oder's team and Rockhurst played the most contested game in Suburban - Gold this week, with Greg Oder's team eventually emerging with a 11-8 victory. Chris Swingle threw for 223 yards and 1 touchdown in the win.
