One team took the elevator way up and another took it way down in the power rankings this week. We'll tackle that and more in this week's report.
No Stoppin 'Em
St. Thomas More was the better team in every quarter against Comeaux last week and consequently the better team overall. St. Thomas More picked up a decisive 'W' against Comeaux, finishing up at 70 - 13. St. Thomas More had two big standouts, as senior William Cryer rushed for 123 yards and scored on one reception, while junior Caleb Holstein tossed the ball for 213 yards and four TDs. The combined 83 points was the most of any game featuring a power-ranked team.

It was a battle of top-notch squads when Acadiana (12th in the power rankings) took on Ruston (18th) last week. Acadiana got a somewhat close 28 - 21 victory over Ruston. The win boosted Acadiana a satisfying seven spots in the power rankings.
Movin on Up
Byrd claimed most-improved honors this week by climbing the power ranking ladder 56 rungs after its game against Bishop Dunne. Byrd narrowly escaped with a win as it sidled past Bishop Dunne 17 - 14. Byrd and Bishop Dunne were a much more even match than Byrd's previous opponent, giving the fans a heck of a game.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Catholic-B.R. (3rd in the power rankings) and University Lab (1st). This will be the second home game in a row for Catholic-B.R.. University Lab and Catholic-B.R. can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Friday which team falters and which extends its success.
