Forest Hills (10-1) and Huntingdon (10-1) face off this Friday at 7:00 PM to determine whose season will come to a close. Forest Hills is coming into the game hot, having won six in a row.
Forest Hills's encounter with Bedford three weeks ago was a 40-point stomp, but the result last week was anything but. Forest Hills came out on top in a nail-biter against Central, sneaking past 17 - 14. Two standouts for Forest Hills were junior Adam Cecere and senior Jon Long; the former threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns while the latter ran for 62 yards and snatched up eight receptions. This sound performance was nothing new for Cecere, who has been a rock for Forest Hills in the past five games. Additional support came from senior Eric Elgin, a defensive powerhouse who racked up 14 tackles.
As for Huntingdon, it can now show off seven landslide victories after its most recent game. It dominated last week, steamrollering Juniata 53 - 7. Senior Ian Border was especially active in the win, finding the end zone an impressive five times. The longest score for Border was a punishing, defense-defying 96-yard dash in the fourth quarter. Border has also now scored at least one touchdown in the past 11 consecutive games. Senior Jonathan Price was in the mix too, providing Huntingdon with three touchdowns.
The last time they met, Huntingdon was the clear winner with a 54 - 30 finish. This time, their match is expected to be much closer since they have similar MaxPreps state rankings (Forest Hills at 84th, Huntingdon at 70th). This defeat knocked Forest Hills out of the playoffs, so expect it to come at Huntingdon with a vengeful fire.
