Peninsula - Bay recap November 19, 2013
South San Francisco moved up to 661 from 699 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Peninsula - Bay. The Warriors climbed the ranks as a result of topping El Camino 29-28.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Terra Nova beat Half Moon Bay 56-0. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Tigers.
Riley Tinsley made the biggest impact on defense this week as Sacred Heart Prep bested Menlo. The 5-foot-10 junior grabbed 1 interception.
Will King threw for 17 yards and 14 touchdowns. He was 2-10 with 2 interceptions.
Aaron Burns was a force in the backfield as Sequoia beat Carlmont.
King put up the best numbers through the air as the Knights lost to the Gators.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Terra Nova's Anthony Gordon and Jaylen Jones have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback Gordon has thrown for 3,233 yards this season, while Jones has 61 catches for 1,093 yards. Isiah Nash from Menlo-Atherton leads the league in rushing with 1,255 yards.
Bill Gray's team took down the Cougars 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Gordon threw for 411 yards and 7 touchdowns during the win.
