Powder River County will challenge St. Labre Indian Catholic on the road on Friday. After the teams both made easy work of their previous opponents, one of them is set up to suffer a discouraging change of fortune.
After having lost a blowout in their match two weeks ago against Circle, Powder River County were happy to find some success last Saturday. Everything went Powder River County's way against Plentywood as they made off with a 40-6 win. Followers of Powder River County probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected three blowout victories.
Meanwhile, St. Labre Indian Catholic have had to suffer through a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their game against Lame Deer by a conclusive 36-6 score. St. Labre Indian Catholic were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Their wins bumped Powder River County to 3-3 and St. Labre Indian Catholic to 1-5. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, it will be interesting to see how far up these teams can run up the score.
