LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Junior
Sieara Price of
Eaton (Eaton, Colo.) High School powered her way to MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Player of the Week honors for contests played from August 24-30.
Price slugged 2.000 with five of her eight hits going for extra bases, including a pair of home runs, and was responsible for 18 of her team's runs (12 RBI/6 runs). In addition, the junior hit .889 (8-9) with two doubles, a triple, two walks and a .833 on base percentage. Price started the season in style by reaching base safely in her first four plate appearances in a 17-4 win over Skyline. She launched a three-run home run, doubled and knocked in five runs during her season debut. Price continued with a 3-for-4, three RBI outing against Platte Valley and concluded the week with a double, home run and four RBI versus Lyons. She also scored twice in each of the three contests.
MaxPreps, the official high school statistical provider of the NFCA, provides all statistics for the NFCA High School Player of the Week award. To nominate a player for the award, the coach must enter his or her athlete's game stats into MaxPreps by Sunday evening to be eligible for that week's award.
The MaxPreps/NFCA High School Players of the Week are announced on NFCA.org every Monday during the spring season, with one representative chosen from each of five separate high school regions. During the fall campaign, just a single player will be selected representing all participating regions.

Coaches who enter their team's stats on Max Preps will not only be nominating their players for this award, but they will be getting their team's information out to thousands of high school sports fans, as well as college coaches across the country.
