The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Saturday Covenant Christian takes on Lubbock Christian in the first playoff game of the year. Covenant Christian is skipping in on a 11-game winning streak; likewise, Lubbock Christian rolls in with seven consecutive wins.
The final score between Covenant Christian and Trinity Christian last week was a 54 - 7 blowout in Covenant Christian's favor. Covenant Christian was already ahead 41 - 0 by the end of the half, putting Trinity Christian too far behind.
Meanwhile, Lubbock Christian took its game last week with a confident 49 - 20 score. Junior quarterback Jaden Fowler didn't have many carries in the previous game, but he had more touches this time and made them count as he ran for 195 yards and punched in four touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Lubbock Christian to 10-1 and Covenant Christian to 11-1. Covenant Christian and Lubbock Christian both have plenty of landslide victories under their belts (Covenant Christian with ten and Lubbock Christian with ten), but only one can come away triumphant this week. We'll find out who that is soon.
