Lake Weir have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. On Friday they take on Forest at 7:00 PM. Lake Weir are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the contest prepared for a fight.
After having lost a blowout in their matchup three weeks ago against Eastside, Lake Weir were happy to find some success two weeks ago. Lake Weir walked away with a 42-28 win over South Lake. No one put up better numbers for Lake Weir than junior Deiontae Simpkins, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 191 yards on the ground and threw 3 TDs. Simpkins has been a consistent playmaker for Lake Weir as this was the 6th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 7-46, which was the final score in Forest's tilt against Gainesville two weeks ago. Forest were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 7-39.
Lake Weir's victory lifted them to 4-2 while Forest's defeat dropped them down to 3-3. The Lake Weir defense got after the quarterback against South Lake to the tune of four sacks, so Forest's offensive line better have put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the match.
