Clinton were the first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their contest against Emerald on Friday. Clinton lost to Emerald by a decisive 19-34 margin. Clinton were down by 12-34 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
This is the second loss in a row for Clinton and nudges their record down to 2-7. Emerald's win brought them up to 3-6.
The teams are both focusing on improving their conference standings in their upcoming contests. Clinton will stay at home next week against Woodruff at 7:30 PM. Clinton's defense better steel itself: Woodruff are averaging 40.22 points per game. Emerald will take on Union County at home at 7:30 PM.
