If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Clayton Valley Charter. On Friday they will take on Alhambra at 7:00 PM. Clayton Valley Charter have bulldozed their previous four opponents, so Alhambra might have their hands full.
Last Friday, Clayton Valley Charter put the finishing touches on their 6th blowout victory of the season. They steamrollered Miramonte 49-14. Junior Makhi Gervais, who rushed for 131 yards and 1 touchdown, was a major factor in Clayton Valley Charter's success. This marked the 5th contest in which Gervais has rushed for over 100 yards.
Meanwhile, their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Alhambra, but their most recent matchup may have softened the blow. They had enough points to win and then some against Northgate, taking their matchup 33-13. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (27) and coasted on those for the win.
Their wins bumped Alhambra to 4-4 and Clayton Valley Charter to 7-1. Alhambra's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Clayton Valley Charter defensive front that amassed six sacks against Miramonte, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
