Nixon have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They take on Alexander at 7:30 PM. Nixon will be hoping to build upon the 19-14 win they picked up against Alexander the last time they played.
After a string of four wins, Nixon's good fortune finally ran out last Friday. They took a hard 21-41 fall against United South. Nixon got a solid performance out of senior Jc Ayala, who picked up 78 yards on the ground and accumulated 166 passing yards; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. Ayala has now scored at least one touchdown in the past 5 games.
Meanwhile, Alexander got themselves on the board against Laredo LBJ, but Laredo LBJ never followed suit. Alexander blew past Laredo LBJ 30-0. Alexander were heavily favored coming into this game, and the results showcase why.
Alexander's win lifted them to 4-1 while Nixon's defeat dropped them down to 4-1. In their win, Alexander relied heavily on junior Jose Rodriguez, who passed for 284 yards and 4 touchdowns. Nixon will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
