St. Mary's (Lancaster, N.Y.) took an early lead against
Bishop Timon-St. Jude (Buffalo, N.Y.) and held on for a 21-6 victory on Saturday.
The Lancers scored seven points in the first quarter. St. Mary's scored on a touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter, SM was up 13-6 at the half.
The Lancaster school grew its lead to 15 points entering the fourth quarter. The Lancers scored two times in the third, including once on a rushing touchdown.
Bishop Timon-St. Jude's only touchdown came on a 3-yard run by
Derick Simpson in the second quarter.
The victory was a completely different match up compared to last season's game between these two teams, which the Tigers took, 41-14.
The loss was the third in a row for Bishop Timon-St. Jude. With the win St. Mary's extended its winning streak to three games.
