D.J. Foster scored just two touchdowns as
Saguaro (Scottsdale, Ariz.) defeated Queen Creek (Ariz.), 56-28, during the Division III state quarterfinals, but he still
established a new single-season state record with 53 touchdowns.

One week earlier he scored an incredible 10 touchdowns and ran for a state-record 508 yards as the Sabercats routed Sunrise Mountain (Peoria, Ariz.), 81-48. His touchdowns and yards were state records. He also set a career state record with 92 touchdowns and tied the single-season record of 51 touchdowns.
Prior to the last game, the 6-foot, 185-pound senior was averaging over 15 yards per carry.
Arizona Republic columnist Scott Bordow asked, "Does anyone truly realize just what kind of year Foster is having? He's arguably the best player in the state - and one of the best in the country."
Foster will take the big stage this Saturday when Saguaro (10-2) challenges top-ranked
Sabino (Tucson, Ariz.) in the state semifinals - but what many believe will be the state-championship game.
