Benedictine left-handed hitter Michael Ostrowski was at the plate when he ripped a screaming line drive down the right field line into foul territory.
The first base umpire barely had a second to react, but managed to turn away from the ball.
The line drive ricocheted hard off the umpire's back, sending him to the ground.
Luckily, the umpire was quick to get back to his feet. Ostrowski told MaxPreps that the umpire was fine and play quickly resumed.
