See who landed where as the Top 25 got a shake up this week.
See the video above for a complete breakdown of this week's MaxPreps Xcellent 25 High School Basketball Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.
Here's a look at developments that shaped this week's rankings:
It's been a rather unusual start to the high school basketball season, to say the least.Player uncertainty
• 5-star Bol Bol
left previous No. 3 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) to join prior No. 8 Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.)
• Eligibility questions remain for high-profile transfers such as 5-star James Wiseman
and UAB commit Ryan Boyce
for No. 1 Memphis East (Tenn.)
• The status of Michigan State commit Thomas Kithier
at Top 10 Clarkston (Mich.)
• Previous No. 13 Webster Groves (Mo.) lost Top 40 prospect Courtney Ramey
to a broken wrist (6-8 weeks) before the pivotal City Of Palms Classic in December.Take two
Time to tap the reset button as five ranked teams have already lost since Nov. 1 — and six squads have fallen out of the High School Top 25 completely. Looking the part
Memphis East sure backed up its No. 1 preseason ranking over the weekend. The Mustangs throttled Findlay Prep 68-57 at the Larry Finch Classic in Memphis. The gritty bunch utilized the services of Wiseman and Boyce after a temporary restraining order allowed them to play until a Dec. 7 court hearing. Wichita State commit Alex Lomax
took over when Wiseman fouled out with under four minutes left in a tight four-point game. The 4-star floor general also saved Memphis East during the prior contest in an overtime win against Columbus (Miss.) — with Wiseman and Boyce both sidelined. If the Mustangs are fully intact this entire season, they will be tough to beat.Top 25 movement
• Cypress Falls (Houston)
jumped five spots to No. 6 as its 29-game winning streak is the longest of any team in the Top 25.
• Mountain Brook (Birmingham, Ala.)
catapulted from unranked to No. 10 after dismantling Georgia power Norcross (Ga.) by 17 points at the Holiday Hoopsgiving in Georgia. Top 15 recruit Trendon Watford
recorded a game-high 36 points, including 30 in the second half. Keep in mind, Norcross defeated previous No. 10 Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point, N.C.) the following night.
• McEachern (Powder Springs, Ga.)
and Simeon (Chicago)
round out the four new teams to join the Top 10.
• Sunrise Christian Academy Elite (Bel Aire, Kan.)
shot down previous No. 7 Prolific Prep (Napa, Calif.) 56-50 and pounded previous Top 50 Aspire Academy (Louisville, Ky.) by double-digits at the Lighthouse Classic in Mississippi over the weekend. The new No. 11 Buffaloes have a big-time showdown Saturday with No. 12 La Lumiere (LaPorte, Ind.)
at the Chicago Elite Classic.
• Guyer (Denton, Texas)
also joined the party after stunning previous No. 15 Westlake (Austin, Texas) 83-72 at the Thanksgiving Hoopfest in Texas.
