Cavalier (N.D.) put an additional eight points on the board on top of its 48-point lead going into the fourth quarter to beat out Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page (Finley, N.D.) 56-0.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter, the Tornadoes led 42-0 at the half.
Cavalier expanded its lead to 48 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS scored once in the quarter on a defensive touchdown.
The Tornadoes raced to 22 in the first quarter alone and kept up the pace for the win.
When the two teams played each other last season, Cavalier came away with a 58-0 victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page, who notched a 60-6 victory over North Star/Starkweather in its previous outing. The loss ended Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page's three-game winning streak.
Cavalier (2-0) goes up against New Rockford-Sheyenne in a 9-Man Region 2 (9 Man) game matchup next week, while Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page (3-1) locks horns with Thompson also in a 9-Man Region 2 (9 Man) game.
