Video: Jeffrey Widhelm's highlights vs. Fort Calhoun
See the Falcon senior who impressed in a pair of games earlier in December.
Highlighted by the Cornhusker State's first triple-double of the young basketball season, Douglas County West senior Jeffrey Widhelm put together a pair of individual basketball gems on back-to-back nights as the Falcon knocked off Fort Calhoun, 70-51 on Dec. 9, and defeated Concordia 63-50 on Dec. 10.
In the latter win, Widhelm posted 23 points, 21 rebounds, 10 assists, a steal and four blocked shots, lifting the 6-7 senior to the top of this week's Top 10 Nebraska boys individual basketball performances.
Widhelm wasn't the only hot shot senior to impress during a pair of December boys basketball games. West Virginia commit Teddy Allen had the hot hand as Boys Town posted an 89-53 win over Concordia and fell 66-64 to Omaha Roncalli Dec. 1 and Dec. 8, respectively.
Allen didn't get the triple-double, but he did put together a pair of offensive gems, scoring 42 points against the Crimson Pride and pouring in another 35 points in the triumph over the Mustangs.
Lewiston's Logan Anderson took the third spot after coming up three assists and a pair of steals short of a rare quadruple-double, while Sandhills/Thedford senior Jacey Nutter and "Mr. Shake N Bake" himself Ulises Hernandez of Madison round out this week's Top 5.
The numbers used for this week's Top 10 were taken directly off MaxPreps' boys basketball statistics database on Dec. 18.
