Top 25 high school football rankings

Three new teams entered the Top 10 in this week's Xcellent 25 High School Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.

The Tigers of Katy (Texas) leaped 10 spots to No. 4 following an impressive 53-6 pounding of previously-unbeaten Cinco Ranch.

Katy has one of the country's most dominant rushing attacks and boasts a defense that allows only 14.7 points per game.

Joining Katy is Virginia power Phoebus (Hampton, Va.). The Phantoms have won 40 games in a row and move two spots to No. 9 after winning .

Grant (Sacramento, Calif.) makes a return to the Top 10 following 45-7 blowout win over Franklin (Elk Grove). Junior Shaq Thompson is playing at an extremely high level and the Pacers appear bound for a CIF Bowl Game bid.

Also on the rise is St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio), which checks in at No. 14. The Eagles beat Mentor on Saturday and will match up with No. 15 Glenville this weekend.

West Monroe (La.), previously ranked No. 6, is bumped to No. 11. However, the Rebels will have a chance to climb back if they survive a challenging 5A playoff bracket.

Similarly, Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) fell to No. 12. The Ironmen have an opportunity to rise up the rankings with another convincing Non-Public Group IV title run and a strong finish by Gilman (Baltimore), a team Prep crushed in September.

Entering the rankings this week is Florida's 6A title favorite, Dr. Phillips (Orlando, Fla.). Led by star recruits Ha'sean Clinton-Dix and Demetrius Hart, the Panthers have been nothing short of phenomenal, winning every game by at least 28 points.

Xcellent 25 Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard

1. (1) Trinity (Euless, Texas), 10-0
Trinity received 100-yard performances from Tevin Williams and Terrence Tusan to overpower MacArthur (Irving) 45-18.

2. (2) South Panola (Batesville, Miss.), 11-0
Three touchdowns from dynamic senior Kendrick Market helped South Panola blast DeSoto Central (Southaven) 50-7.

3. (3) St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), 9-0
The Raiders looked unstoppable in their 56-0 blanking of South Broward (Hollywood). Quarterback Jacob Rudock padded his outstanding season totals by tossing five touchdown passes, three of which went to receiver Phillip Dorsett.

4. (14) Katy (Texas), 10-0
Katy posted the most impressive victory in the country over the weekend in its 53-6 win over rival Cinco Ranch. Adam Taylor rushed for 209 yards as Katy clinched the District 19-5A title.

5. (5) Armwood (Seffner, Fla.), 9-0
Josh Grady threw for four touchdowns and running back Matt Jones added a pair of scores for Armwood, which downed East Bay (Gibsonton) 49-12.

6. (4) Hoover (Ala.), 11-0
Head coach Josh Niblett's squad continued its march towards an undefeated, 6A-title winning-season with a 29-7 victory over Gardendale.

7. (8) Centennial (Corona, Calif.), 9-0
Centennial picked off four passes, but its prodigious offense was the story against Corona as the Huskies won a laugher 82-21. Barrinton Collins tallied 187 yards and two scores on just six carries.

8. (10) Mission Viejo (Calif.), 9-0
Bryan Keller caught seven passes for 191 yards and Mission Viejo's defense held Tesoro (Rancho Santa Margarita) to a paltry 29 yards rushing in the Diablos' 30-7 victory.

9. (11) Phoebus (Hampton, Va.), 10-0
Quarterback Jordan Roby compiled 165 yards and three touchdown passes for Phoebus, which won its 40th consecutive game with a 60-7 thrashing of Bethel (Hampton).

10. (12) Grant (Sacramento, Calif.), 10-0
National Junior of the Year candidate Shaq Thompson knifed through Franklin's defense for four touchdowns in Grant's impressive 45-7 victory against Franklin.

11. (6) West Monroe (La.), 10-0
Paul Turner rushed for three touchdowns and West Monroe's defense limited Pineville to negative-15 rushing yards in the first half as the Rebels came with with a 43-21 victory.

12. (7) Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.), 8-0
Gary Nova and star junior Leonte Carroo connected for two more long touchdown passes in Don Bosco Prep's 48-13 victory over Clifton.

13. (13) Colerain (Cincinnati, Ohio), 11-0
Colerain triumphed over Hamilton 42-14. Trayion Durham crossed the goal line three times for the Cardinals, which beat Hamilton for the second time this season.

14. (18) St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio), 11-0
St. Edward defeated a strong Mentor squad once again, this time pulling away to a 35-21 victory. Reggie Terrell and Terrell Bates each scored two touchdowns for the Eagles.

15. (15) Glenville (Cleveland, Ohio), 11-0
Shane Wynn had a 32-yard rushing touchdown and also brought a punt 69 yards to the house as Glenville beat Harding (Warren) 41-6.

16. (16) Dwyer (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.), 8-1
Jacoby Brissett completed 14 of 18 passes for 238 yards and four touchdowns as Dwyer rolled over West Boca Raton 49-7.

17. (17) De La Salle (Concord, Calif.), 9-0
Lucas Dunne and Joe Te'o each rushed for a pair of scores in De La Salle's 49-0 blanking of Livermore.

18. (19) Wheaton-Warrenville South (Wheaton, Ill.), 11-0
Reilly O'Toole's four passing touchdowns allowed Wheaton-Warrenville South to coast against Wheaton North 44-0.

19. (21) Bingham (South Jordan, Utah), 11-0
Three touchdowns on defense was more than enough for Bingham, which downed Northridge (Layton) 54-13.

20. (22) Northwestern (Rock Hill, S.C.), 11-0
Justin Worley once again dominated through the air, throwing four touchdown passes in Northwestern's 42-0 victory over local rival Rock Hill.

21. (23) Camden County (Kingsland, Ga.), 9-1
For the second straight week, Camden County's disciplined offense put up more than 50 points. This time, the victim was Beach (Savannah), which suffered a 54-14 loss to the Wildcats.

22. (24) Manatee (Bradenton, Fla.), 9-0
Cord Sandberg completed 22 of 23 passes for two touchdowns and Manatee's defense was brilliant as the Hurriances trounced North Port 41-0.

23. (25) Mallard Creek (Charlotte, N.C.), 11-0
It was an all-around excellent effort for Mallard Creek, which blanked William A. Hough (Cornelius) 52-0. The Mavericks have executed brilliantly on offense this year, but also have six shutouts on defense.

24. (NR) Dr. Phillips (Orlando, Fla.), 9-0
Dr. Phillips set a state record for points scored in the regular season by a 6A team in its 56-13 route of Freedom (Orlando), highlighted by Demetrius Hart's 232 yards and three scores. On the season, the Panthers have scored 473 points and allowed a mere 61.

25. (20) Servite (Anaheim, Calif.), 9-0
Malik Felton came up big again for Servite, rushing for 163 yards and a touchdown as the Friars held on against Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita) 17-10.
