Unsigned senior running back Tyler Boyd
continues to raise his Division I stock for the high-scoring Clairton (Pa.)
The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder showed his great versatility on Friday during a 65-0 rout of Fort Cherry (McDonald, Pa.) by scoring four touchdowns, each in a different way. He scored on a 57-yard pass reception, 47-yard interception return, 41-yard run and 40-yard fumble return. He also had three runs of over 40 yards nullified by penalties, according to the Tribune-Review.
Fort Cherry coach Jim Shiel told the newspaper that Boyd "is just amazing. And with him, it's not just the speed. He has the ability to find open space the way other people just can't. He's in a league of his own."
The Bears easily raised their national-high winning streak to 52 games, even though Fort Cherry chose not to snap the ball on each down until just one second remained on the play clock.
