BRADENTON, Fla. - Manatee (Bradenton, Fla.)
received a huge boost from its defense against Venice (Fla.), as the unit scored 12 in defeating Venice (Fla.), 56-7.
The Hurricanes were up 49-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Cord Sandberg
to Brodrick Yancy
in the first quarter.
With the win Manatee extended its winning streak to 12 games. MHS defeated the Vikings 65-12 last week.
Sandberg was the top performer for the Bradenton school. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. A member of the 2013 Top 100, Sandberg has now scored 12 touchdowns on the season.
The Indians' lone touchdown came on a 28-yard pass in the third quarter.

When the two teams played each other last season, Manatee came away with a 34-21 victory.
