Smoky Valley (Lindsborg, Kan.) and
Halstead (Kan.) both tightened up defensively, but Smoky Valley managed to score enough to pull out the 14-3 victory.

After nabbing the lead on a field goal, the Dragons went into halftime with a 3-0 lead. Smoky Valley took the lead to win the game on a touchdown pass by
Christian Hansen in the third quarter.
SV got revenge for last year's 23-16 loss to Halstead with the victory.
The loss comes after Halstead defeated Lyons 39-21 last week.
Halstead (1-2) goes up against Sterling in a Central Kansas game matchup next week, while Smoky Valley (3-0) locks horns with Haven also in a Central Kansas game.
