Downey might have drawn first blood against Warren last Friday, but it was Warren who got the last laugh. Downey lost to Warren by a decisive 28-48 margin. Defeat or not, Downey got some senior leadership from Kijjon Foots, who passed for 307 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Malcolm Perry, who rushed for 81 yards and 2 touchdowns. In fact, with ten tackles Mena was a force on both sides of the ball.
In almost any game, 45 points would all but guarantee a win. Not in this one. Gahr took a 45-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paramount. This makes it the second loss in a row for Gahr.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. If Gahr want to win, Gahr will need to focus on stopping Downey's senior Kijjon Foots, who passed for 307 yards and 2 touchdowns, and senior Malcolm Perry, who rushed for 81 yards and 2 touchdowns.
