AAAA Region III recap November 5, 2013
Northwestern added to the longest winning streak in AAAA Region III this week by beating Nation Ford, 63-18. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
Northwestern took down the Falcons 63-18 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Fort Mill's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Rogan Wells threw for 73 yards and Taylor Hemphill had 25 yards receiving. On the ground Malik Long contributed 160 yards. Zach Fowler helped Fort Mill's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 22 yards.
The Yellowjackets' dynamic duo of Wells and Hemphill proved to be unstoppable against Clover, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Fowler helped Fort Mill's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 22 yards.
Long provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Fort Mill beat the Blue Eagles. Long's key target this week was Hemphill, who caught 2 passes for 25 yards.
Nation Ford's Dalton Helms and Brandon Cureton led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Helms has thrown for 2,480 yards this season, while Cureton has 52 catches for 1,069 yards. Ed Susi's team's Long leads the league in rushing yards with 771.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Kyle Richardson's team takes on Rock Hill. As it stands, the Trojans are in first, while the Bearcats are in fifth.
