Being
Johnathan Gray these days must be nice.

Johnathan Gray will go after the
career touchdown record next week
in the state finals.
The
Aledo (Texas) High School senior and Texas-bound standout tied a national career touchdown record after scoring five in a 68-28 4A Division II playoff win over Corsicana Friday night.
Gray was out of the lineup in the lopsided win, but then re-inserted before scoring on a 36-yard run in the fourth quarter.
He tied the national record of 204 set by Michael Hart of Nedro Onondga (New York) set from 2000-03. Gray also broke his own state single-season touchdown record of 59 and how he has 64.
Gray is after Hart's career national scoring record of 1,246 and entered Friday's game at 1,196.

"It was a total team effort tonight," Gray told the newspaper. "To come out here and be going to another state championship is amazing. You live in the moment. Last night was last night and today is today. We came out and left everything on the field."
Aledo also showed off its passing game as
Matthew Bishop completed 10 of 12 passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns, both to
Michael Mann, who finished with four catches and 98 yards.
