Alexis Glasgow, a Northwestern-bound 5-11 guard who averaged 17.1 points and had 93 3-pointers last season. Rolling Meadows also has size in the middle with 6-2 honorable mention all-state forward
Jenny Vliet returning.
2. Marian Catholic (Chicago Heights)
2012-13 record: 33-1, Class 4A state champions
Head coach: Annie Byrne
Marian Catholic captured the Class 4A state championship last year with second team all-state guard
Ashton Millender (5-10) leading the way. She hit a midcourt shot at the buzzer to defeat Marist in the sectional playoffs and averaged 14.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Also back is 5-8 junior guard
Teniya Page, who made the Chicago Tribune's all-state third team with 10.8 points and 4.3 assists per game last year.
3. Whitney Young (Chicago)
2012-13 record: 26-5
Head coach: Corry Irvin
The Dolphins lose just three players from last year's team and have plenty of size returning in honorable mention all-state player
Khaalia Hillsman, a 6-5 senior center. Another honorable mention pick,
Taylor Brame (5-11) returns at forward for the Dolphins. Young is just two years removed from a 34-0 state championship season.
4. Edwardsville
2012-13 record: 30-1
Head coach: Lori Blade
The Tigers won 30 straight games before falling in the state playoffs to Richwoods. Tennessee recruit
Kortney Dunbar (6-2) returns for Edwardsville after earning second team all-state recognition from the Associated Press while averaging 14.6 points per game.
5. Joliet Catholic Academy2012-13 record: 24-5
Head coach: Ed Schodrof
Joliet Catholic had its most successful season since 2006, winning a regional title in 2013. Second team all-state selection
Jasmine Lumpkin (6-0) returns at forward and she's coming off a season in which she averaged 19 points and 13 rebounds per game. Sophomore guard
Nicole Ekhomu also returns after earning honorable mention all-state honors.
