CIBOLO, Texas -
Steele (Cibolo, Texas) extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 42-14 victory over
Southwest (San Antonio, Texas) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Justin Stockton touchdown run in the first quarter, the Knights led 21-7 at the half.
Steele expanded its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. The Cibolo school scored three times in the third, including once on a Stockton touchdown run.
The Knights' most effective player was Stockton. The junior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
Steele had given up an average of 12.3 points prior to the contest. The 14 points that the Dragons ended with were well below their average of 36.1 coming into the game.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Knights came away with a 49-24 victory.
The loss comes after Southwest defeated King 16-14 last week. The loss snapped Southwest's 2-game winning streak.
