MARIONVILLE, Mo. - After six lead changes,
Ash Grove (Mo.) took the lead for the win when they scored a touchdown with 10:00 left in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat
Marionville (Mo.) 31-23 on Saturday.
After nabbing the lead on a field goal, the Comets went into halftime with a 17-16 lead. The Pirates took the lead for good with a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring zero points in the third, Ash Grove still trailed by eight points going into the fourth quarter. But 14 points in the fourth helped AG pull out the victory.
The Pirates got revenge for last year's 33-21 loss to Marionville with the victory.
The win brought Ash Grove's winning streak to four games.
In a non-conference game next week Marionville (2-2) takes on Father Tolton, and Ash Grove (4-0) will go up against McAuley Catholic also in a non-conference game.
