For the second week in a row, the southwest was the only region to sport a new No. 1 team in the MaxPreps regional football computer rankings.
Allen regained its spot at the top of the southwest region after falling to No. 2 behind Mountain Pointe last week. Mountain Pointe fell three spots to No. 4.
The rest of the No.1 teams in the four other regions remained the same with Colerain No. 1 in the midwest, IMG Academy No. 1 in the south, Mater Dei No. 1 in the west and St. Joseph's Prep (Philadelphia) No. 1 in the northeast.
The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Football Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. For the purposes of these rankings, the country is broken down into five regions:
West: California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Hawaii, Alaska and Montana.
Southwest: Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma,and Texas.
Midwest: North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
South: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
Northeast: Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Delaware and Vermont.
