You might not recognize the power rankings this week after a busy last week rearranged the teams a whole lot. We'll tackle all that (plus a new number one team) in this week's report.
Can't Touch This
Centennial got a 41 - 22 win over Sutton last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Wyatt Ehlers. Ehlers rushed for 166 yards and three touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Ehlers as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Skutt Catholic (6th in the power rankings) and York (13th). Skutt Catholic snuck past York with a 42 - 37 victory. As a result, Skutt Catholic rose three spots in the power rankings.
No Stoppin 'Em
Pierce has been an offensive powerhouse for four straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. Everything went its way against Scotus as it secured a 59 - 21 win. Pierce was heavily favored coming into this contest, and the results showcase why. The combined 80-point effort made this the highest-scoring game in the power rankings for the week.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Lakeview (19th in the power rankings) and Bishop Neumann (15th). The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games. Both the Lakeview and Bishop Neumann defenses have allowed few points this year (averaging 8.83 ppg and 13 ppg, respectively), so the teams might find scoring more difficult than usual this week.
