FIRST TEAM DEFENSE

Aziz Shittu, DL, 6-4, 275, Buhach Colony (Atwater)
Shittu showed why he is one of the nation's top recruits. He had eight sacks this season.
Modesto Bee all-district team.

Tony Vincent, Escalon

Nathan Di Donato, DL, 6-2, 225, Franklin (Elk Grove)
Di Donato was a force on the defensive line with 20.5 sacks.
First Team All-Metro by the Sacramento Bee

Tony Vincent, DL, 6-1, 220, Escalon
Vincent had 11 sacks and 68 total tackles.
Trans Valley Defensive Player of the Year.

Ray Edwards, DL, 6-3, 205, Highlands (North Highlands)
Edwards was second in the state with 25 total sacks.
Second Team All-Metro by the Sacramento Bee

Zack Giuliano, LB, 6-1, 190, Hilmar
Giuliano had 172 total tackles and three sacks this season.
Modesto Bee Defensive Player of the Year.

Tanner Vallejo, LB, 6-2, 210, Nevada Union (Grass Valley)
The junior racked up 109 solo tackles and 149 total for the Miners.
First Team All-Metro by the Sacramento Bee

Alex Bertrando, LB, 6-3, 215, Del Oro (Loomis)
The Nevada commit was the rock in the middle of the Eagles' defense with 74 total tackles and four sacks.

D.J. Dunn, LB, 6-3, 220, Pleasant Grove (Elk Grove)
Dunn had five sacks from the linebacker position for the Eagles.

Cameron Buell, LB, 6-3, 250, Casa Roble (Orangevale)
Buell had 140 total tackles and four interceptions for the Rams.

Marcus Rios, DB, 6-0, 175, Cosumnes Oaks (Elk Grove)
The UCLA commit was a shutdown defensive back and had four interceptions on the season.

David Bucannon, DB, 6-2, 180, Vanden (Fairfield)
Bucannon led his team with 127 total tackles from the corner position.
Daily Republic All-Region Team.

Justin Martin, DB, 5-10, 170, Oakdale
Oakdale does not enter stats on MaxPreps, and went 13-0 before falling to Del Oro in section final.
Modesto Bee all-district team.

Alex Reynaga, DB, 5-7, 150, Riverbank
Reynaga led the section with nine total interceptions.
Trans Valley All-League selection.

Zack Starnes, P, 5-10, 180, Woodland
Starnes had 1,052 total punt yards and averaged 43.8 yards per punt.
Tri-County All-League selection.
