Video: USC commit Michael Pittman takes it 99 yards to the houseCentennial (Corona) and St. John Bosco (Bellflower) have gone back and forth as the projected representative for the Pac-5 Division in the California championship football game matchups, and this week was no different.
One week after Centennial replaced St. John Bosco as the SoCal representative to the Open Division championship game, St. John Bosco returned the favor in addition to moving to No. 1 in the Xcellent 25 National Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. The Braves defeated Loyola (Los Angeles), 52-14, while Centennial knocked off Orange Lutheran, 49-27.
St. John Bosco and Centennial could settle things next week in the Pac-5 Division championship game, however Centennial must get past Mater Dei (Santa Ana) this week while St. John Bosco faces Bishop Amat (La Puente).
Ten other new teams joined the championship game matchups this week, including Heritage (Romoland) in the Inland Division of the Southern Section. Redlands East Valley, the season-long leader in the Inland Division, was eliminated by Rancho Verde (Moreno Valley).
Other newcomers include Orland, La Mirada, Coronado, Rocklin, Cardinal Newman (Santa Rosa), Notre Dame (Riverside), Serrano (Phelan), Sierra (Manteca) and Chowchilla.
Following are the unofficial regional matchups for the 13 CIF Football Championship Games. Teams are listed by their section enrollment division along with their record and their rating based on the MaxPreps Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.

Key: NCS = North Coast Section, NS = Northern Section, SJS = Sac-Joaquin Section, LAS = Los Angeles City Section, CS = Central Section, CCS = Central Coast Section, SDS = San Diego Section, OS = Oakland Section, SF = San Francisco Section, SS = Southern Section.
Notes: Teams in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I-VI are selected based on the Divisional and League alignment.
For the Central Coast Section team rankings, teams in the Central Coast Section A Leagues are divided by MaxPreps into three equal groups for the three Open Division section championship games. This is not necessarily how the CCS will select teams for their Open Division playoff format. The runner-up teams are considered to be the No. 2 ranked team in each Open Division group.
The top eight ranked teams in the San Diego Section are considered for the Open Division and the No. 9 ranked team is considered the top team in Division I for the purposes of these rankings.
