Capistrano Valley Christian extended the longest winning streak in San Joaquin this week by beating Sherman Indian, 44-8. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Eagles.
Santa Clarita Christian moved up to 914 from 978 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cardinals climbed the ranks as a result of a 27-0 win over Keppel.
Saddleback Valley Christian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brandon Camarillo-Towles threw for 261 and three touchdowns and Sawyer Caso-Nogle had 113 yards receiving. On the ground Forrest Lohman chipped in 187 yards. Charlie Morris helped Saddleback Valley Christian's passing attack out by catching four balls for 67 yards.
Capistrano Valley Christian's Riley Babick and Ben Sukut have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Babick has thrown for 1038 yards this season, while Sukut, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 31 catches for 466 yards. The Warriors' Lohman leads the league in rushing yards with 451.
A big matchup in San Joaquin this week will be when Southlands Christian takes on Santa Clarita Christian. The Eagles are in second place, while Garrick Moss's team is in third place.
Saddleback Valley Christian took down Riverside Christian 61-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Camarillo-Towles ran for 30 yards in the win.
