Video: LSU commit Myles Brennan goes off in season opener
See Mississippi's all-time touchdown passes leader in action earlier this season.Nobody in the history of Mississippi high school football has thrown more touchdown passes than
Myles Brennan, and that should give LSU fans yet another reason to be excited about the senior being committed to their favorite team.
The
St. Stanislaus (Bay St. Louis, Miss.) quarterback connected with tight end
Darius Pittman on his team's second drive Friday against East Central (Moss Point, Miss.) on a 4-yard pass for career touchdown 145, eclipsing the mark of 144 held by Dylan Favre.
Favre is a St. Stanislaus alum who is also the nephew of Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre.
Brennan was his usual spectacular self Friday in a 70-50 victory, throwing for eight touchdowns and rushing for another.
According to the Sun Herald of Biloxi, Miss., the three-star recruit has thrown at least one touchdown pass in every varsity game he's ever started - beginning with one contest as a freshman. Just three of his starts have seen him toss less than two scoring passes, and the newspaper reports that the breakdown goes like this year by year: one as a freshman, 64 as a sophomore, 53 as a junior and now 34 as a senior.
Brennan, 6-foot-3 and 182 pounds, already held the state record for career passing yards and the top single-season marks for yards (5,761) and touchdowns (64).
