Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) extended its winning streak to eight games with a 42-14 victory over
St. Augustine Prep (Richland, N.J.) on Saturday.
The Ironmen were up 28-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Elijah Ibitokun-hanks in the first quarter.
Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and the fourth quarter began with the margin still at 28.
Calvin Cass played well for the Hermits. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to 33 on the year.
Ibitokun-hanks was the top performer for Don Bosco Prep. The junior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 10 touchdowns on the season.
St. Augustine Prep came in giving up 12.5 points per game this season. SAP struggled against DBP's offense, which entered the game scoring 26.9 points per game. The Ramsey school had given up an average of 11.8 points prior to the contest. The Richland school's 14 points were well below its season average of 37.1 per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for St. Augustine Prep, which notched a 42-12 victory over Pleasantville in its previous outing.
In a Cape-Atlantic - National game next week St. Augustine Prep (7-2) takes on Cedar Creek, and Don Bosco Prep (8-1) will go up against St. Joseph Regional in a Big North - United game.
