MaxPreps 2012-13 Boys Basketball Junior All-American Team

Highlighted by National Junior of the Year Stanley Johnson of Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), MaxPreps presents the 2012-13 Boys Basketball Junior All-American Team.

Selections are based on team success, statistics and local, regional and state honors from the recently completed season. Potential at the college or professional level is not a consideration. Players in post-graduate programs are not eligible for inclusion.

FIRST TEAM

Joel Berry, Lake Highland Prep (Orlando, Fla.)
6-0 | 190 | Guard
Repeat selection as Florida Mr. Basketball, missed eight games with injury but Lake Highland Prep was unbeaten with him in lineup (21-0). Piled up 25.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. Already committed to North Carolina.

NATIONAL JUNIOR OF THE YEAR
Stanley Johnson, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.)
6-5 | 215 | Guard-Forward
Upstaged star senior Aaron Gordon in the California Open Division title game with 26 points and 12 boards, leading Monarchs to third state crown in a row. Averaged 19.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per game on the season.

Tyus Jones, Apple Valley (Minn.)
6-1 | 170 | Guard
After pumping in more than 28 points per game as a sophomore, elite 2014 point man dialed back the scoring (20 points, seven assists per game) this winter and led Apple Valley to a 30-1 record and Class AAAA state title.

Emmanuel Mudiay, Prime Prep (Dallas)
6-3 | 190 | Guard
Supremely talented and physically gifted guard was leading scorer for first-year Prime Prep program, which went 37-2 and reached National High School Invitational semifinals.

Jahlil Okafor, Whitney Young (Chicago)
6-10 | 270 | Center
Looked like a serious contender for national POY honors through much of season as he put up monster double-doubles consistently against Whitney Young's murderous schedule.
